Romans 10:17 – So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Being a Christian gives you a divine advantage in life and that advantage is access to God in prayer. The prayer line is God’s help line – that is, your spiritual 911.
In prayer, we move the hand that controls the World. Prayer is supplication that provokes divine intervention (Psalms 107:13,19).

Jacob’s Encounter with God – Genesis 28:10-18
Jacob had an encounter with God through a dream exposed in the desert, on his way to Laban’s house in Padanaram.
Looking critically at the story, we can draw some lessons that will help us as Christians:

1. He encountered God one night, while he was asleep with a stone as his pillow and exposed to the elements of the desert (Genesis 28:11-13). Encounters in prayer are birthed on the platform of inconveniences.

Casual prayers don’t move Heaven. Prayer is work whereby your total being – spirit, soul and body is involved.

2. The ladder represents the prayer altar that connotes connectivity to divinity. The angels were ascending and descending on it. We provoke our desired change on the altar of prayer. They take our requests up to God and return with our desired answers.
3. Interestingly after that strange and glorious encounter with God, the stone that Jacob used as pillow was set up as a pillar (Genesis 28:18). Prayer turns the weakest of men into spiritual pillar in life and it is available to all who can pay the price.

Oil was poured upon the pillar, this talks about Grace. We generate Grace on the altar of prayer to terminate our disgrace and reproach.

Make prayer your spiritual habit in this season and your life will never remain the same.
