Romans 8:6. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
When man refuses to be ruled by the spirit. He is simply subjecting himself to slavery of the flesh and its appetites.
Carnality reduces man to a struggling captive instead of a ruling captain.
The law of the spirit sets free! Romans 8:1.
Life in the spirit is the believer’s security and safety.
1 Corinthians 2:14-15. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
Only those who are ruled by the spirit can rule their world.
Romans 8:13. For if ye live after the flesh,ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Be subject to the spirit to make your world subject to you.
