SUB-TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE COVENANT OF DIVINE EXEMPTION

Understanding is what gives rise to knowledge. Understanding is the comprehension of wisdom, while wisdom is the application of understanding. For everything standing, there are secrets. We need to understand the secrets we need to apply to enjoy divine exemption. Salvation is more than an escape route to Heaven, salvation/redemption is a separation unto the life of exemption. Colossians 1:13,Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son

Revelation 12:12.Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

The devastation that is happening in this world is as a result of satanic oppression. Ephesians 2:6,And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Where you belong determines what you experience. John 16:19, Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

Every genuine believer, though living in this world, is not of this world John 17: 16, They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. John 3:6, That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

When a man is born again, he is recreated through the renewing of the holy spirit. You may look alike, live in the same house, work in the same office with them, but you are not like them. When a man is born again, he is regenerated by the Holy Spirit. To enjoy the reality of exemption, You need to renew your mind with the Word of God. Rom. 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Your mind has to understand and align with the revelation of scriptures concerning your spiritual placement. 2 Cor 5:20, Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

You are an Ambassador of Christ on Earth. To help us appreciate and understand our exemption status we need to understand the picture of God’s exemption plan.

Who is an Ambassador?

An ambassador is a person who resides in a foreign country as a representative of the Head of State of his country, whose interest and agenda are to advance the course of the country he is coming from. If you want to be successful in life, you have to obey the law which is contained in the Word of God, which is the word of faith. The law of faith is superior to any law.

There are certain laws in diplomatic relations that are applicable to us as Christians.

The Law of Inviolability: This is from Article 29 of the law of Diplomatic Relations. This law makes an ambassador of a foreign country to live and operate in a host country, but cannot be affected by the economic, political, financial and socio-cultural factors of that host country. Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Benefits of the Law of Inviolability

1. The ambassador is not subject to the laws of the country he resides in.

2. The Law also covers the family members of that Ambassador; You may be in a foreign country, but you are not affected by the economic condition of that country.

3. Extra-territorial theory: This is Article 37 of the law. By the law of diplomacy, the property, land or structure where the foreign country’s embassy is located, though physically sited in another land, is an extension of the foreign country. The higher the grade level of the ambassador, the higher the security measures provided for that Ambassador. Your level determines your security. Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

4. Diplomatic Immunity: Any injury to the ambassador is an injury to the host country. John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

The Ambassador is a personal representative of the Head of state of his country.

Whatever you speak or confess as an Ambassador of Christ is what the Angels of God assign to happen in your life; be mindful of what you say at every point of your life.

3. The Ambassador is paid from the host country, and all his belongings and resources come from his country.

Do not be worried about where your source of livelihood will come from, because what you get here is allowance, the salary comes from above.

The Ambassador has two major assignments:

1. To promote the interest of his country. Anything that will favour the kingdom of God is what we should dwell on. As Children of God, we need to promote the interest of God’s Kingdom.

2. The Ambassador issues Visas to people, giving them permission to go to his country and stay. Your assignment as a child of God; you have a duty to preach salvation to lost souls and lead them to Christ, where they will be issued Visas to Heaven. As an ambassador, people should be rushing to come to Christ because of how you live your live. John 15:16,Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

What makes an embassy is not the building, but the presence of the ambassador in the building. As an ambassador of God, your embassy must enjoy exemption.

Covenant demands to enjoy divine exemption

1. You must be born again. Exodus 8:22-23 And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth. 23 And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be.

Salvation is what gives you the ticket to enjoy exemption. Genesis 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life; Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

2. Be committed to serving God. Salvation is what gives you the right to enjoy exemption, but it is kingdom service that guarantees the exemption itself. Malachi 3:14-17 Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? 15 And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered. 16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Kingdom service makes you precious. When you serve God, He spares you. Malachi 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. Daniel 6:20-22 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? 21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever. 22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

If you are truly serving God; the lions out there cannot devour you. Service separates you from evil and guarantees exemption.

3. Carry the exemption mindset. Exemption simply means, my case is different. Others may suffer, but my case is different. Habakkuk 1:11 Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

The exemption mentality I need to carry:

1. Mind what you think. If you think it first, you will live it next. Prov. 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Your thinking must be based on the Word of God.

2. Mind what you say. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Do not say what is happening, say what you want to happen. What you talk in this kingdom is what you take. What you proclaim is what you are permitted to claim. Psalm 91:10-11

3. Mind what you believe. Exodus 8:22-23, Isaiah 53:1

4. Mind the place you stay. Joshua 20:1-5. Where you stay matters to your safety.

5. Mind what you do. 1 Peter 3:13. When you begin to do the wrong things, you open yourself up for harm to come your way. 1 John 5:18. If you sin, the wicked one can touch you.

What do I need to do to enjoy exemption?

1. Engage in the mystery of the prophetic mantle. Prophetic mantle is any material that comes from a prophet for the transference of unction. Numbers 11:25. The anointing is transferable. The Grace of God can be transferred. Acts 19:12. When we engage the mystery of the prophetic mantle; we begin to enjoy divine exemption.

What is in this Mantle?

1. It is designed to terminate every siege of the devil over my life. The mantle will deliver instant healing and deliverance. Psalm 45:6-8, Acts 19:11-12, Matthew 9:20-22. It is faith that makes a mantle work, not just the material. Matthew 14:35-36.

2. Whatever answers to Bishop David Oyedepo, answers to you. 2 kings 2:14.And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.

When using the mantle, place a demand on the God of Bishop Oyedepo
