Understanding the blessedness of prayers and fasting 3A - Pst Sule Usman

God’s commandment is for our acceleration. Anytime God gives instructions to His people, it is to move them forward. Prov. 4:18, Ex. 14:15, 1 Sam 12:6. This is exemplified in God’s design, the eyes and the foot of man faces the front so that man can move forward not backwards.

For our expected turnaround this year, we are to fast for specific reason. The 21 days of prayers and fasting was designed by the Commission for a turnaround encounter. Is. 58:6-14.

Biblical approach to profitable fasting.
1. We must come to the father in the name of Jesus Christ (John 15:16).
2. We must engage in praying for the needs of others (James 5:16)
3. We must come boldly to the throne of grace, and not beggarly (Hebrew 4:16). The prodigal son approached his father boldly because he knew his right.
4. We must come thanking, praising and worshipping. (Psalm 100:4)

What is Exemption?
1. Exemption is the action of freeing or a state of being freed from obligations or liabilities.
2. Exemption is divine separation from all forms of evil (Ezekiel 9:6, Is. 54:17)

What are the keys to enjoying Divine Exemption?
1. Eradicate the fear of enemies (Job 3:25). Your fear is the door for the devil to take advantage of you. (Isaiah 8:12, 2 Timothy 1:7)
2. Speak Positively and Boldly (Prov. 18:21)
3. Obedience to the Word of God (Isaiah 1:19, Ezekiel 36:26-27)

What is Obedience?
Obedience is compliance to instructions. Its means following God’s commandment. Most of the time, God’s commandment may not make any sense to you, but you need to follow it to achieve His aim in your life.

Obedience means to be on the move at God’s command. In Genesis 21:1, God gave Abraham instructions and in verse 4, he departed immediately!

Why do we need the spirit of Obedience for our exemption?
1. To conquer the spirit of disobedience for our turnaround encounter. In Gen. 3:1, when the devil spoke to man in the garden, man disobeyed and faced the wilderness experience. That is what happens to man when he disobeys.
2. To comply with God’s instructions.
3. We need the spirit of obedience in order to resist the Devil (Jeremiah 7:23-24, James 4:7)

What are the benefits of Obedience?
1. You attract divine presence. (John 8:29)
2. It creates a platform for friendship with God. Abraham became God’s friend because of his obedience to God, even at age 75.
3. It guarantees divine exemption from all kind of Satanic arrows. (Isaiah 54:17)
