KEYS TO DIVINE RESTORATION – Pastor Matthew Ajibade

TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING HOW GOD LEADS PART 4B

By redemption, every child of God is called to glory and honour ( Roman 8:29-30). Unfortunately the situation and circumstances of life orchestrated by the devil and his agents have caused a lot of us not to exhibit this glory and honour. Being a Christian might not exempt you from these circumstances but I want to assure you that restoration is coming our way this morning. Amen!

Genesis 1:1-2 shows us that God can restore whatever we have lost or we have missed out of, by recreating everything we might have lost in our lives.

Restoration means bringing something that is old, worn out or dilapidated back to its former state. But with God, it means bringing something back to its former state and even better than the former state (Joel 1: 4, Joel 2:21-24).

Covenant keys for restoration

  1. Self examination and evaluation: It is very important to sit down and be thoughtful about your life. It is only when you put yourself in this position that you will hear God’s voice and direction for your life (Luke 15:18). Don’t be occupied with offence but rather engage in personal retreat and look into what you need to do to change your situation (Matt 9:20-21).

  2. The power of brokenness: for those that require spiritual restoration, you must have a broken spirit and be honest with yourself (Psalm 51:1-7).

  3. You must return to God with full repentance (Job 22-23-24)

  4. Search for relevant Knowledge from the Word of God and from relevant books (Proverb 11:9, John 8:32, Luke 15:8-9)

  5. The key of excitement: Create an atmosphere of joy around you and you must know that excitement comes before restoration (Joel 2:21).

  6. Commit to kingdom advancement endeavors (Mathew 6:33, Exodus 23:25-26). You can serve through evangelism, through service group in the church, through prayers for others, etc (Job 42:10).

  7. Identify agents of restoration and be committed (Isaiah 42:22)
