ENGAGING THE POWER OF PRAYER AND FASTING FOR DOMINION PART 2B - PASTOR BENWONDER CHIGBO NWABUEZE

Beginning Statements:

  1. In the calendar of life, all days are not the same. There are days and there are certain days, there are ordinary days and there are special days. Luke 5:17
  2. It is possible that something is present in a location and you are not aware. Genesis 28:16
  3. These 21 days of prayer and fasting are the days of power. Psalm 110:2-3
  4. There are special days in God’s program on earth. Isaiah 2:2-3
  5. In the days of our fathers nobody reckons with the church, but in these days, one of the major places to find people is in the house of God
  6. We are in the days where we move from scarcity to “car city”

 

What days are we in?

  1. These days are fasting days. Luke 5:33-35
  • There are certain days set aside not for feasting but for fasting. Zechariah 8:19.
  • This fast is a proclaimed and prescribed fast. Ezra 8:21
  • It is proclaimed by the authority over our lives and prescribed for us to have breakthroughs. Isaiah 58:6
  • We are looking for God, His Power and His Glory. Because when you find God, you find good, when you find God, you fare well and things go well for you. That is why we are seeking God early before any calamity will come. Psalm 42:1-2, Psalm 63:1-2, Isaiah 55:6
  • These are days of seeking God because He is closer to us than before.
  1. Prayer days. Prayer and fasting goes like hands in gloves, both of them work together. Fasting is not about eating physical food but consuming spiritual food and voluminously praying to God. Hebrews 5:7
  • What makes prayer potent and powerful is consistency. You can’t charge your life with just one prayer. Ephesians 6:18, 2 Thessalonians 1:11, Mark 4:11
  • The power of prayer is vested in consistency.
  • Serve God in fastings and prayer so that you are fully in control all through this year. Luke 2:37
  • The days of fasting are automatic days of prayer, the months of fasting are automatic months of prayer. Zechariah 8:19-21, Daniel 9:1-4,20-23
  • God does not just want to give us answers in these 21 days, He wants to give us greatness. Daniel 2:46-49
  • Don’t look at the pain of this process and forget your gain at the end. Genesis 41:39-41,46
  • Don’t play God this year, hold God! Know God and let God know you. Genesis 41:55-56
  • The prayers of the redeemed are programmed for answers. 1 Peter 3:12
  • When we fast, we fastrack answers to our prayers.

 

What does prayer do?

  1. Prayer grants you access to the voice of God. Exodus 19:19, Isaiah 30:30-31, Isaiah 20:29, Psalm 29:7-9
  • The voice of God swallows up the noise of men, it brings good news to men
  1. Prayer brings deliverance from destruction and troubles. Psalm 34:6-7, Acts 16:25, Mark 13:13, Mark 14:38
  2. Prayer brings peace and quietness with prosperity. Psalm 122:6-9, 1 Timothy 2:2
  3. Prayer quickens conceptions and fruitfulness. Genesis 20:7,17,18
  4. Prayer turns captivity, either your own captivity or the captivity of others. Job 42:10, Psalm 126:3-4

The last days are days of outbreak of revelation. This revelation comes from prayers and fasting. 2 Corinthians 4:4

Many eyes are open but not all eyes are seeing

 

What is Revelation?

  1. Revelation is seeing what God is saying or what God has said. Isaiah 2:1, John 12:35-36
  2. Revelation is light shining in the midst of darkness. Isaiah 60:1-3
  3. Revelation is seeing life through God’s light. Psalm 36:9, Psalm 118:27
  4. Revelation is living life with insight, light and understanding. 2 Corinthians 4:6, Daniel 5:11-12

When light is required, become the light in that place

  1. Revelation is becoming light and a light bearer. John 8:12, John 9:5, John 5:35, Matthew 5:14-16, Matthew 6:22, Philippians 2:15

The last days are days of manifold wisdom of God and this wisdom comes by fasting and prayer. 2 Corinthians 2:4-7, 2 Corinthians 6:5, 2 Corinthians 11:27

  • God is the giver of wisdom from above. Daniel 1:17, James 1:5
  • Wisdom is needed for forceful takeover. Proverbs 8:!2

 

Four practical approaches to fasting

  1. Come in celebrations, in joyfulness and praising. Isaiah 38:18-20, Psalm 100:4
  2. Engage the force of faith. Put faith to work in your fast, believe that everything you are asking from God will be made available to you. James 1:5-7, Matthew 21:21-22
  • Without faith input your prayer will fail in content.
  1. We must be bold in our supplication, not beggarly. Ecclesiastes 8:1, Hebrews 4:16, Acts 4:13,29,31
  • Boldness is one of the qualities that reflects God in you.
  1. Engage in Kingdom advancement promotion prayers. Revelation 11:15, Daniel 7:27
  • God will answer prayers but He will reward investments in His kingdom. Matthew 6:33
