ENGAGING THE MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGHS PART, 2B - PASTOR SIDNEY OMOROGBE

BUSINESS BREAKTHROUGH SERVICE – SECOND SERVICE

SUB-TOPIC: DIVINE SECRETS FOR BUSINESS BREAKTHROUGHS – PART 2

God believes in business, Luke 2:49. There is a difference between job and work.

J.O.B means Just Over Broke. Job will keep you alive but it will not give you relevance. All the wealthy men in the world are basically entrepreneurs. You can be earning salary and still be doing business.

Genesis 47:15-24, salary gives you bread but bread will not last. Job is a contract. Bread is salary, seed is capital to start your business. Inside your business is your increase. Your increase comes via your seed, not your bread. When Joseph gave the people seed, they never came back to beg again.

Work is utilizing your talent/gift to bless people and you get material returns as reward. The motive for going into business should not be for profit, but to serve people and add value. Genesis 2:2. John 9:4. Work is activating stored potential for impact. It is bringing out what is in you to bless others. John 5:17.

You can change jobs but you can’t change work. Work is what God has designed you to do. Genesis 2:15.

Business is to be busy meeting needs. Luke 8:1.

There are 3 major requirements to gain success in business – 2 Kings 4:1-7.

  1. The creative Word: This is God’s part/contribution to your breakthroughs in business. God will not do everything. His answer comes via revelation, ideas and instructions. God has servants that He has put over your life to give you instructions per time. Isaiah 48:17, Isaiah 30:20-21. You get the creative word through your teachers. There are times you will hear directly, atimes you will hear Him inside the message that comes to you.

  2. The pot of oil: The oil is your talent, gift and potential. What can you do? What are your strengths? What are the things you do better than every other person? What are the things you don’t struggle to do, yet you do better than everybody else? That is your calling. The oil is God’s investment in your life. Business does not begin with capital, it begins with oil. Your duty is to discover your oil and nurture it.

  3. Empty vessels: These are other people’s contributions to your breakthroughs. Empty vessels represent their methods, systems and experiences. You can’t borrow other people’s oil, but you can borrow their vessels. It helps to grow you and expand you.

Secrets to business breakthroughs

Outstanding breakthroughs in business answers to divine secrets. Isaiah 60:1-3. For a king to come to buy something from you, you must have high standards. For you to have standard, you must base your business on scriptural secrets.

  1. Understand the due order. Luke 5:1-7. Breakthrough in business does not answer to skill. Your skill can kill you. Experience can make you expire. Jesus stepped into the boat of Peter. When this happened, Peter became subject to Jesus. Genesis 2:8, vs 15, Hebrews 3:4.

  • If you want to have breakthroughs in business, let God be the owner and you become the steward, Psalm 127:1. Stewardship mentality is key to breakthroughs in business. God is the builder.

  • You must have the understanding that God is the keeper.

  • God brings the increase. 1 Corinthians 3:6.

To have a stewardship mentality, put yourself on salary. It will discipline you. Also, your business should be paying tithe, while you also pay your own tithe.

  1. Build a business structure. Acts 6:1-7. Structure in a business is like the skeleton in a human body. Any business that does not have a structure will soon rupture or fracture.

  • Separate business capital from your personal capital. They must never mix.

  • Discipline yourself to put minimum of 40% of your profit back into the business. Proverbs 24:27.

  • Keep records. John 6:10.

  • Employ people based on requirements not sentiments. Employ based on capacity and competence. 1 Kings 10:26. King Solomon had 12,000 horsemen for 1,400 chariots – far more horsemen than were needed.

  1. Apply the law of gleaning. Leviticus 19:9-10. Don’t carry all the money you make to your bank account. Deliberately leave some of your harvest for people to eat. Deuteronomy 14:27-29. Dedicate a certain percent of your profit for gleaning. You may give it to orphanages, pay school fees for indigent children in public schools, etc. Gleaning touches God’s heart.

  2. Protect your business. Matthew 4:24-27. Genesis 2:8, vs 15-17.

  3. Get feedback. Matthew 16:13-16. Get feedback on whether your clients are satisfied or not. When you get genuine feedback, you can’t remain at the back. Deuteronomy 28:13. Find out whether you are satisfying people and make necessary adjustments. Get feedback from your customers and then from your staff.

  4. Hire people based on what they can become. Matthew 4:19. Your company must have a system in place that makes them improve and become better. Offer people the opportunity of becoming better and upgrading their lives. This is how you attract quality staff.

  5. Allow other people to make decisions that run the business. Matthew 10:1. Empower them to be able to make decisions and also delegate duties and authorities.
