Topic: Commanding Signs & Wonders from the Platform of Revival

Sub-Theme: Covenant Steps to enjoying Divine Restorations.

This is the midst of the year, the time when God restores His people supernaturally. Habakkuk 3:32-36. The greatest signs and wonders one can perform is to lead souls to the Kingdom of God. John 14:12. The only miracle you can perform that Jesus could not perform is leading a soul to Christ. Jesus never led a soul to Christ because He is the Christ!

What makes salvation the greatest miracle that a man can perform? If you raise a man from the dead (which is perceived as one of the greatest miracles), the man would still die someday; but if you lead a soul to Christ, you have just changed the eternal destiny of that individual.

Luke 16:19-24 This tells us that there is life after death (eternity). There is something about eternity, “eternity is a place of permanent state; if a man enters eternity as a sinner it will never change; if a man enters eternity as a saint, he will remain a saint forever”. From verse 24, the most painful thing about eternity is that you go with all your memory. From this scripture we see that, your wealth and your possession will all die when you die – we see the rich man could not afford a drop of water in hell.

Brethren don’t let your little wealth or position, or office confuse you. The Church today is living outside of love. Acts 2:1-2, the day of Pentecost was a build-up, it didn’t just happen! The Holy Ghost came on 120 people on the day of Pentecost and 120 disciples turned to 120 fire-brand. They received the fire of the Holy Ghost because they were together in one accord. Togetherness is good, but God is only moved when our hearts are one and we all are in one accord as a church. Togetherness is different from unity, what moves God is unity of mind, spirit and purpose.

If we are in a season of revival and God wants to use us for the revival of the people, we must be in one accord, having that fire of the Holy Ghost. To revive is to resuscitate, to bring something dead back to life. So, if you are spiritually dead, you cannot bring people to life – for you cannot give what you don’t have. 1 John 3:12-15. The Bible, therefore, tells us if we are not in love, we are spiritually dead.

One of the virtues to have is kindness. Evangelism is founded on love. There is no hopeless situation, just hopeless people!

The Battle of David

Psalm 41:9 ; Psalm 55:12-14. It was David’s close friend – Ahithophel – that wanted to stab him on the back. 2 Samuel 23:34 , 2 Samuel 23:39.

Ahithophel had only one son called Eliam, a General in David’s army. The husband of Bathsheba, Uriah, was also a Senior Officer in David’s Army. Ahithophel himself was a mighty man of war and a friend of David. 2 Samuel 11:2, 2 Samuel 15:12, 2 Samuel 17:2 – 3. However, Ahithophel conspired with Absalom against David; because of bitterness, unforgiveness and malice.

2 Samuel 17:23 – Ahithophel put his house in order and committed suicide. Uriah, Ahithophel and Eliam all died due to one act of sin committed by David.

Lessons to draw:

  1. Never use your position to do evil or oppress your subordinates. David abused his exalted office to do evil. Ahithophel was his staff, Uriah and Eliam were soldiers under him.

  2. You must learn to forgive people, leave them to God to judge and move on with your Life. You cannot be bitter and your life will be better! Ahithophel kept bitterness. It’s not worth it, if not for anything, look at eternity. You may end up in hell because of somebody you refused to forgive.

  3. Sometimes to enjoy revival and enjoy progress, you don’t need to go to God to make peace, you might need to go to Man to make amends and peace. Genesis 5:16 ; James 5:16. One secret that can help you handle offenses is to pray for the person that offended you. You cannot pray for the person and still be offended in him. Make peace, and healing will flow!

  4. We serve a God that can bring a message out of any mess. King Solomon, son of Bathsheba, became the greatest king of Israel. God did this to compensate Ahithophel. He would have seen his great grand son become the King of Israel; but bitterness and unforgiveness denied him of this.

  5. Mind your walk with God. In Hebrews 11, David was mentioned as one of our fathers of faith, this means that he went to Heaven. Do not judge people based on your past experience with them. Samson too, was a hero of faith – after he renewed his covenant with God, God restored him. Run your race and mind your business!

What is Restoration?

RESTORATION is the act of returning back something that was stolen or lost due to carelessness. Restoration connotes to retain, to recompence, to make complete. Restoration can involve a place, a person or a condition.

Four basic areas of restoration

  1. Restoration from all forms of satanic oppressions and oppositions. Joel 2:20.

  2. Spiritual restoration. Joel 2:23 talks about Spiritual fervency, Spiritual renewal.

  3. Material or financial restoration. Joel 2:24. Material abundance; Material and Financial prosperity.

  4. Divine speed and unusual progress. God can restore time. Joel 2:25. 1 Samuel 16:16-19; David moved from the bush to become the armour bearer of the King (like an ADC) without any military training. Mordecai also from a gateman to a Prime Minister.

Covenant steps to Divine restoration

  1. New Birth or rededication. Joel 2:21; 12-13. Genuine repentance is the first step. No returning, no restoring.

  2. Engage the cry of faith. 1Chron 4:9-10 (Jabez); Genesis 32:24-28 (Jacob).

  3. Subscribe to Kingdom advancement promotion. You can’t advance God’s Kingdom and be stagnated in Life.

  4. Engage the key of excitement. Joel 2v21 restoration begins with joyfulness and gladness. When we go into singing, God goes into restoring. Heb 12:2. Jesus saw beyond the cross. Don’t complain about what you’re going through, begin to celebrate where you’re going to!

  5. Subscribe to divine guidance. Luke 15:8. You want to enjoy divine restoration, search the scriptures. John 5:39. Inside the search, you will find revelation and if you obey the revelation, you will see restoration.

  6. Connect to agents of restoration. Prophets are agents of restoration. Isaiah 42:22.
