UNDERSTANDING PATHWAYS TO SANCTIFICATION PART 2A - PASTOR FELIX ELKANAH OLUGBENGA

Beginning Statements:

  1. There is nothing that God has asked us to do that He has not wired us to do. John 14:21
  2. It is established from scriptures that God has given us a choice to live the way we live. Deuteronomy 30:19
  3. Anointing cannot substitute sanctification. You can be anointed but your anointing cannot substitute your sanctification. Because your heart is the vessel that contains your sanctification. Roman 12:2
  4. Receiving the anointing cannot change the vessel. 2 timothy 2:21-22
  5. God’s will for us as believers is to live a pure and sanctified life. Hebrews 12:13
  6. God’s word carries the cleansing power that empowers us for sanctification. 2 Timothy 3:3-5
  7. Keeping an unsanctified mind hinders God’s word from coming to pass in our lives. Psalm 51:10. If you must live a sanctified life, you must have a right mindset.
  8. Ungodliness blocks our communion with God and hinders our access to answers to our prayer. Psalm 66:18
  9. Lack of revelation of the word of God is a risk. For you to remain sanctified, you need the word of God. Psalm 119:11
  10. Sin takes you away from the word, but the word of God keeps you away from sin.
  11. Meditating on the word of God changes the way we live
  12. Meditating on the word of God changes your lifestyle. Psalm 119:15
  13. Many believers claim they love God yet they disregard the things of God.
  14. Sanctification is what brings about prosperity, so don’t treat the things of God with levity

What is ungodliness?

Ungodliness means living a life without regard or a thought for God. Jude 1:4.

  • It is only the blessings of God that has eternal warranty, the blessings of man is just for a moment.
  • When you live a sanctified life, your breakthrough is eternal.

What is sanctification?

  1. Sanctification is aligning yourself with God by purifying your heart through repentance and spiritual practice. 1 Thessalonians 4:3
  2. Sanctification is the believers’ cleansing or purging from the nature of sin. 2 Corinthians 7:1

 

 

Costs of Ungodliness

For every triumph in life, there is a price to pay.

  1. It open doors to sickness and diseases. Mark 2:5-11
  • Sin holds us down with sickness, but sanctification delivers us from the scourge of sin. James 5:14-15
  • If your heart is not right with God, no matter what prophesies the servant of God makes, you will not receive your healing. He can apply all the mysteries but if your heart is not right with God, you will not receive your healing.
  • For you to carry the spirit of the commission, you need to live a sanctified life, your heart needs to be straight with God
  • Ungodliness is the fastest killer of destinies. 2 Corinthians 3:17
  • If the devil can’t have you to sin, sickness and diseases will not have you.
  1. It blocks our access to supernatural breakthroughs. Proverbs 1:23
  • It is better to be given access to the strong room than for money to be given to you from the strong room
  1. It blocks our access to eternity with Christ. Revelation 21:8
  • God does not hate sinners, but He hates sin.
  1. Repentance is the mystery of godliness that is able to rescue everyone from the dungeon of sin
  • When you repent, your past is erased.
  1. God’s word has creative power, and it is the biggest manifestation of our conviction. 1 Kings 21:25-27
  2. Repentance is what brings about our sanctification.

Benefits of Sanctification

  1. Sanctification secures peace and serenity. Isaiah 59:8
  • You can’t be casual with the things of the spirit and not end up a casualty. Proverbs 28:1
  1. Sanctification secures divine honour. 2 Timothy 2:19-21
  • Sanctification is the pathway to honour

How do I enjoy the benefits of Sanctification?

  1. We must crave for enduement of the spirit of holiness. Romans 1:4
  • Living a sanctified life with Christ begins from within, not the outward.
  • What is inside is what will reflect outside
  1. Sanctification without an initial walk with holiness leads to frustration, because sanctification and holiness works hand in hand. Romans 8:13
  2. Sanctification is not just a desire, it requires intentional engagement.
  3. We must engage the power of the blood for our rescue. Hebrews 9:14, Revelation 12:11
  4. To manifest your victory of sanctification, you have to maintain your faith to the end, because a sanctified life is impossible without faith. Hebrews 11:6, Matthew 24:13

 

  • There is no pit so low where God’s grace cannot reach. No matter how deep the hole is, God’s grace can penetrate anything.
  • Your submission to God’s position is your victory over ungodliness. Sin/ungodliness is a spirit, when you submit to God, He will empower you to victory over ungodliness.
  • When you don’t have the knowledge of the word of God, everything pertaining to the gospel will be strange to you. It is sanctification that secures our 7-fold access to the redemptive inheritance.
  • If you must have access to your 7-fold redemptive right, then you must be sanctifie Revelation 5:12
  • Sanctification is a non-negotiable requirement for triumphant living.
  • If you must have access to the source of sanctification, then you must return to God.

  • All of these things are given by God. Revelation 5:12, 1 Samuel 16:32, Acts 20:32
  • Many are not getting their inheritance because they lack sanctification. It is sanctification that prepares you for an inheritance. 2 Timothy 2:21
  • Before we pray, we must purge ourselves from certain iniquity and be ready for God’s use.
  • Many things are not used, because they are not prepared for use.
  • How you prepare determines who makes use of you. 2 Timothy 2:21
  • Wisdom grants you access to your inheritance. Ecclesiastes 7:11
  • God does not delight in all men, He delights only in those who know Him. Psalm 147:10-11
  • Heaven’s budget is allocated for God’s projects.
  • God takes pleasure in your obedience

Our seven-fold redemptive rights include:

  1. Power
  • Clean up so that you can claim all. You can never be at the mercy of the devil when you are empowered. Luke 10:17-19
  1. Proverbs 2. 2 Corinthians 6:10, 2 Corinthians 9:8
  • God is in you to always have sufficiency in all things
  1. Wisdom Proverbs 24:3-5

Many people can never be scattered in their life because they are building with wisdom. Matthew 7:24, James 3:13

When you receive instruction from God, what do you do with it matters.

  1. Psalm 84:7

Your appearance in God is what pushes you forward. Judges

  1. John 5:44, 1 Peter 2:17, Hebrews 5:4
  2. Proverbs 3:35 We inherit glory by turning many to Christ. Daniel 12:3
  3. 1 Peter 3:9, 1 Peter 1:4
