Understanding the journey of life from the pages of scriptures makes life meaningful and practicable (Rom. 10:17).

Abraham our father of Faith was a man of deep understanding which guided him in his dealings with men. We shall be focusing on the lesson to learn on his dealings with his nephew Lot. Genesis 13:5-12; 14:12-16.

Despite the fact that Abraham took and raised Lot, he embraced the path of peace by offering Lot the choice to choose the land he wanted first, contrary to common sense and tradition (Genesis 13:8-10); and Lot foolishly chose the “best land” without due regards to his uncle who brought him up.

Being a peacemaker is not a weakness, but a sign of greatness. You cannot sow peace and reap crisis and chaos in your life (Galatians 6:7).

Lot initially looked like someone that was ahead, with his choice to live in a fertile land in the city while Abraham remained in the village (Genesis 13:12). Interestingly in Chapter 14, there was war in Sodom; and Lot and all his properties were taken by the enemy. It took the love and courage of Abraham to save him and restore his properties.

Do not envy those ahead of you, be conscious and connected to the Covenant, they will need your help and assistance very soon. Amen!

Shalom!!!
