ANCHOR FOR TODAY – 30th March 2020

The essence of this is to give you an anchor to the Solid Rock, as a stronghold in times like this (Rom. 10:17).

Our Anchor scripture is in John 2:1-11: The Miracle of water to wine.

There was a marriage feast in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. The marriage feast must have involved a lot of planning, cooking, tailoring, baking of cakes, buying of drinks, etc. The mother of Jesus was probably part of the Planning Committee as the Bible records that she was there. The way it was written, she probably was the one that invited Jesus and His disciples to the feast. The invitation may have even been an afterthought, at Mary’s insistence.

The success of a wedding, in the days of this feast, was by the quality and quantity of the wine served (Verses 9-10). At a point, the wine ran out! This meant shame and reproach to the bridegroom. The wine did not run to the end of the feast – this was disgrace coming. The bridegroom may have quickly sent one of his friends to the store to get more wine, or maybe he did not even have money for more wine. The mother of Jesus, seeing that shame was looming (she, being a member of the planning team saw when wine was running out); knew that the only solution was for Jesus to intervene.

If she had not invited Jesus, the feast would have ended abruptly with the bridegroom starting the first day of his married life in shame!

Make Jesus the invited Grace of your life!

When GRACE is seated, disGRACE is not permitted.

We know where the solution is. Who you look up to determines the result you have!

It is not enough to just invite Him, keep your focus on Him – not on social media or news flying around. Keep your focus on your source, that is GOD!

Jesus started the miracle by issuing out instructions. Please follow God’s instructions in times like this. John 16:33 – “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. So cheer up, He has overcome the world; keep hope and faith alive – He is the only one that can solve all these problems.

Remain ever Blessed! Jesus is Lord!
