The Lesson of Manna in Your Wilderness Experience. Part 2. Exodus 16:1-35

The wilderness is a season of trial and testing; where your faith and belief in God will be tested due to the uncertainties around us. Uncertainties naturally breed fear and anxiety, except you are deeply rooted in the faith (2 Cor. 4:17, 18). Often times there are more questions than answers. What next? When will this unfamiliar journey come to an end? In the wilderness, the children of Israel questioned the ability of God to provide for them and see them through this unusual ordeal (Ps. 78:19, 20 …yea they spoke against God; they said can God furnish a table in the wilderness?). Never doubt God’s ability and faithfulness no matter what you are going through (Ps. 23:1). A sheep is helplessly dependent on the faithfulness and ability of the shepherd to protect and care, no matter the terrain they are travelling on.

This season has not been easy, so much pressure on how to ‘survive’ and others calling upon us to help and assist them, not mindful of the fact that we are all in the same situation. If God brought us into it, He will see us through it. We shall see light at the end of the tunnel!

Lessons from Manna in our wilderness experience

We shall continue as we draw lessons from God’s provision to the Israelites called manna and specific instructions on how to handle it.

  1. Don’t delay in gathering the manna. They were to go out first thing in the morning to collect manna. If they wake up too late to go collect the manna, it disappears (Exo. 16:21). Never take the goodness and faithfulness of God for granted. If you are slack in thanksgiving, you may lack His goodness (Jer. 13:15-17). How you start your day will determine how the rest of the day will go. Start the day with thanksgiving and celebration, delay is dangerous.
  2. The quails represent the blessings that comes from afar to you (Num. 11:31), while the dew (manna) is what heaven brought directly to you even while at home (Num. 11:9). Both has their sources in God, take stock of your quails and manna and be grateful and thankful for it. Exo. 16:13 …and it came to pass, that at even the quails came up and covered the camp: and in the morning, the dew (Manna) lay around about the host.

God will strengthen you with might in the inner man for the day ahead and bring speedy answers today to your prayers. Be expectant.

Shalom!!!

“A SHEEP IS HELPLESSLY DEPENDENT ON THE FAITHFULNESS AND ABILITY OF THE SHEPHERD TO PROTECT AND CARE, NO MATTER THE TERRAIN THEY ARE TRAVELLING ON”. Food for thought!
God, help me to absolutely trust and depend on You for I know it shall end in praise.
    MORE UNCTION TO FUNCTION SIR.
