The Leadership Secrets of Jesus VI – Luke 2:41 – 52

The path of a leader is a lonely path. It takes courage and personal conviction to press on (as a leader), on a mission because only you can see what your followers cannot see. Leaders see beyond what is, to what can be. They birth the invisible! A leader will often times suffer mockery and ridicule from siblings, close friends and enemies. This was the case and experience of our Lord Jesus while pursuing salvation for mankind. His siblings (brothers) did not believe in him and his assignment (Jn. 7:3-5). His friends saw him as a mad man (Mk. 3:21, Jn 10:20), and his enemies accused him of being possessed of the devil and using satanic powers (Lk 11:14,15, Mk 3:22). Jesus maintained focus and endured until his assignment was accomplished (Heb.12:2). And interestingly, his siblings who mocked him eventually became his followers (disciples) – Acts 1:14 …and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

The higher you go as a leader, the fewer your cycle of friends. As you go up, there are relationships you will give up; as you change class, you will of necessity change or drop friends. All through Jesus’ arrest, trial and crucifixion, only John the Beloved; among the disciples; stood with him unto the end (Jn 19:26, 27).

Principle No. 6: Leaders Are Humble and Consistent Learners.
In Luke 2:46-47, when his parents located him after three days of searching, they found him in the temple (place of learning). He was seated among the Doctors of the law; the word incarnate was humble enough to sit down to learn (Jn. 1:1-3, 14). Every genuine leader is a consistent reader and learner. Leaders listen to others and ask questions. You do not learn by what you say, but by what you hear (Prov. 1:23). When you sit around people who know more than you, keep your mouth shut and your ears open.

In listening, we gain knowledge/revelation while in questioning, we gain understanding (comprehension). One man’s wisdom can save you forty (40) years of mistakes and errors. You lose the right to lead others when they know what you know. You must be ahead of them in knowledge and understanding to remain the head. Don’t seek to be known, seek to know – Bishop David Abioye. Leaders are people of confidence because they always know what to do per time (Jn. 6:6), they are solution providers (Lk. 2:47). Take advantage of this season to upgrade your knowledge and skillfulness.

You will experience the marvelous help of God today, and His supernatural visitation in your areas of need. Be blessed.

Shalom!!!

“THE HIGHER YOU GO AS A LEADER, THE FEWER YOUR CYCLE OF FRIENDS”. True talk.
When one wants to rise, people who ain’t going nowhere wants to go with him.
Lord, severe me from unfriendly friends in order to take my place in destiny. This is my prayer; This is my plea.
